Field trip Thursday!
Wow, so soon! Somehow short weeks feel a little crazy! Just two more sleeps until our trip to Telus Spark!
Remember to send a "garbage friendly" lunch and healthy snack for Thursday's Field trip. We will also go outside and need to be dressed for the weather!
This week we've already started interviewing some of our school community staff members, as we connect our ideas about communities and think about how communities come together and support each other.
We exchanged our library books today and did a big writing and sharing with gallery walk to revisit, talk and reflect on our felting jobs from last week.
We continue to play with place value, odd and even numbers, skip counting and basic number sense to assist in measuring, comparing and simple addition. Games, games, games at home are the best way to support this number sense development.
Coming up! In-line skating
This means an adjusted gym schedule with Mr. J and some outside time to play. As we accommodate all the classes, our actual skating days will be in December, reminder to follow closer to end of November. Students will want to dress for skating those days; ie no skirts for girls, hair tied back and such.
Coming up! Book Fair
Our day to purchase a book we see will be Wed Nov. 20th. Students will have a chance to preview and bring their ideas home to you. You can decide if you would like to send money for an at school purchase that day or perhaps visit the book fair before or after your child's conference time.
Conferences
Will follow a student-led format, with sharing options and suggestions, as well as your time slot you will sign up for on line to sit with the teacher for 15 minutes or so.
