A BIG THANK YOU again to all the people who sent in "stuff" for us for building.
We have been building in a variety of ways since September - initially we started with 3D solids, 2Dflats, a variety of Lego, Connectors and straws, magnetic set connectors, and so forth. We are moving into more types of building that includes other materials - natural or manufactured.

Ask me about types of "fasteners" for joining materials?
I might be able to tell you at least 4 different types of fasteners that we looked at! Some of them were plastic, some were metal, and some we are used to using in the classroom quite regularly (tape, glue), but now we will be using them with new or different types of materials and thinking about what fastener works best with different materials.
We will also be thinking about design principles and what type of material would be best for different types of construction needs or structure needs.
