Reminder: Walk to the public library tomorrow. If possible, send a little snack that can fit into a coat pocket!
We are working on our Thanksgiving Turkey feather patterns inside our cards when we get back!
We continue to re-visit our tree art and our writing that goes with it, to add any more details and think about the "scientific lens" we looked through for this work - do they match? Does my writing describe my art work? Can I read what I wrote? These are some goals we are working on.
Students chose a "personal goal" writing template to support their individual writing and printing needs for this work and we are thinking about our own learning and what our next goals should be!
We made our pumpkin muffins today! In our writing, we noticed that the little word "in" shows up in both, "pumpkin" and "muffin". We talked about the little word, "pump" and the little word, "muff" as we discover ways to look at words and play with language in our reading.
We continue to read a variety of text in class and listen to stories every day!
Please feel free to send a "favourite" book to school from home and we will take the time to read it here and add it to our "favourites" list!
After the Thanksgiving weekend we will start a little "Home Journal" on Fridays and we will start sending little "just right" books that students can already read! These little books will come home each day in the folder. Students are invited to choose a new book each day if they wish, or keep the same book INSIDE their folder to read again if they wish. That means that the little book should travel INSIDE the folder EVERY DAY, even if a child is choosing to take it home again. We will want to use that book at school as well, so we want to see it every day!
