Today was a music day!
The opera librettist visited our room today and we had a chance to learn about our school's developing ideas, characters and themes for our opera. We listened to a draft of the story and responded with ideas, which we recorded in pictures to share as this work moves forward.
Our Library day will be Thursday this week. We are still practicing with books at school for now. We have an entry to the room book time, where students are asked to use teacher selected picture books from the "new" book shelf and the "Autumn Basket". At this time students are also invited to use their library books in class to show good book manners and proper handling skills. Later in October students will bring their books home to share in a special library book bag!
We worked to sort objects, create patterns of our own and record patterns in our math journals today.
We are planning a little leaf hunt for tomorrow and some leaf art /science/math activities in our classroom tomorrow! Students have been asked to bring some leaves from home if they can!
