Sleepy Santa Hawkwood School

It is "sleepy Santa" for all of Hawkwood school tomorrow!  Then on Thursday our buddy classes decided to wear Pajamas again.  We will see our buddies again on Thursday morning and have a little craft and movie time after caroling in the afternoon, in our own classroom.

Students have been revisiting some "artist" expectations.  Using perspective, size, horizon lines and the seasonal time of year to create a surprise for the holiday season.  We also always revisit "gallery walk and gallery talk" when we engage in art activities.

This is a particular time in learning when each "artist" has to make decisions and choices and think about their own work to tell when it is done.  As well, while we learn that we all have a perspective, opinion and point of view about art, likes and dislikes, differing preferences - we know that in a public learning forum, we need to use polite critical feedback and encouragement when expressing ourselves in relation to the work of others in our community.

We are learning that art has purpose, communication and a message and that we don't all see and understand the same things when we experience and view different forms of art!
