Hi everyone,
If you sent a form with an email back to me, I've entered it. I didn't look up first and last names, so if I couldn't figure it out, and/or it differs from your child (all children are entered by only first name) I used what seemed most logical from your email! If you still don't have access and think you sent your email to me, just go into Raz kids and request parent access for your child by entering your email yourself! Then all I have to do is do the approval. I may have keyed something incorrectly from a handwritten email, and should be able to make the connection if you go in and enter your own email for me. However, I do still need a signed sheet from you confirming you are the parent of your child... it was the bottom of the parent letter that was to be sent back to me!
Ask at home about "Zero the Hero"! She showed up in a book about numbers today, and as we've recently passed the tenth day of school, we are learning about zero's place and how place value helps us read and build larger numbers.
We have been finding the patterns in the number chart up to 80 so far. One of our outcomes requires us to count over decades and to understand that counting by 10's could mean 6, 16, 26, 36, 46, 56, 66, and so on. We are learning to look for number patterns that show up in a 100 chart, such as the ending "6" in the above mentioned example, as well as the beginning of each number, that continues a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 pattern down each column in our chart.
We are doing lots of other patterning in math for Sept and will continue this concept on monthly calendars throughout the year.
Attendance/Absence Reminder: Just a quick note that if your family plans an extended vacation and/or your child will have an extended absence from school, please check in at the office yourself, or ask for the extended absence notice to be sent home prior to departure! As to the definition of "extended", it is typically considered irregular or unexpected, which differs from illness. Illness, you simply call into the office as usual!
